Like May’s flowers blooming in all their glory, for the May 2012 Income Report there is a leap in sales for stock photos (20 sales total) as well as a steady flow of book sales. The top stock photo sale this month was by far the Apple Streusel Pecan Muffins.
As you can see, there was a dramatic increase in stock photo sales (relative at least). I believe that this is because I was anxiously engaged in taking more photos and submitting them. The more photos you have in the database, the higher up your photos end up in the search engines which typically results in more sales.
Another top stock photo seller this month was of our new baby bunny, Cinnamon. Isn’t she cute?
She was such an active little thing. I needed a really fast shutter speed and was also lucky that she paused for a second. One thing I love about this photo is the element of back lighting. This is really hard to get accepted for a stock photo because it can cause harsh shadows. I was lucky in this shot. I love how the light shines through her little ears. So cute and just in time for Easter! It’s important to get down low for varying angles when taking photos. I think I may have been on my belly for this shot. I love how tack sharp the grass is as well!
While this month’s income isn’t amazing by any means, it is headed in the right direction!
Here are the numbers for May 2012. Time for the movies (or why not save up for more lenses???)!
