The income report for January 2012 is a bit meager and it’s okay:) Christmas is always a busy season and it is best spent with family and loved ones which is where my time was spent.
Book sales were decent but stock photo sales were down (6 sales total). The top stock photo sale this month was once again the Misty Morning shot.
Another photo that sold this month was of the bridge over the Potomac River in Washington D.C.
I love this shot because it reminds me of my dad. He brought me to Washington D.C. for the cherry blossom festival and let me take photographs while we were there. This is one of his favorite places in D.C. and favorite times of year. Both of these photographs were “aged” by using Adobe Lightroom. Honestly, I use Lightroom more often than Photoshop for editing my photos. I always shoot in RAW format so that I have complete flexibility post processing. I will probably do a more thorough review of Lightroom at a later time. Just know that it is awesome! One important tip for getting outdoor photos to be accepted to the stock agency is to always use a tri-pod. This will help keep the photos more tack sharp and will allow you to focus on composition and other elements of the photograph.
Okay, back to the income report! Here it is:
